English summary:

I am well aware that winter hasn't even started yet, but to already make sure we will end the winter in a good manner the 'Netherlands Annual Ecology Conference' is in full prep! I will attend this conference, which is an initiative of NERN (The Netherlands Ecological Research Network), for the first time myself. But not just that: I am also co-organizing one of the parallel sessions!

Together with PhD candidates Niek Wouter Gijsbert Barmentlo and Julia Beets from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam I am preparing session 4b, which will be entirely about nature conservation, biodiversity, and - of course - DNA! Nowadays, genetic tools and research have become indispensable when it comes to protecting and monitoring the natural world around us.
